I just keep piling on events that I find to involve rare or local beers. Then whatever else interests me. There seem to be about 30 Revolution tap takeovers today, so I'll let you look them up at the CCBW page! But it's getting late, so this page may not have much formatting nor as many links as usual. But as always, I thank you for coming to this page!

Smylie Brothers Brewing Co. will be hosting the takeover for fellow Evanston brewers from Temperance Beer Co., Peckish Pig, and Sketchbook Brewing Co to bring together some of their best brews. The beer from all four breweries will be on draft all day at their individual prices.

Arts & Crafts is an event series in partnership with Lakeshore Beverage and Chicago beer bloggers The Hop Review that celebrates art, craft beer, and the culture that ties both together. At each event, guests will meet local Chicago artists at the top of their craft and learn about their process while enjoying beer from some of the country's best breweries.
In this installment, we'll gather at Logan Square's Galerie F to learn about screenprinting with Chicago artist Nate Azark, a Chicago designer with 12 Line studio, a full service creative studio in Chicago working with clients both large and small. In addition to a live demonstration, each guest will receive a one-of-a-kind print designed by Nate specially for the event. We'll also enjoy craft beer cans from Brooklyn Brewery as we spend time amongst Galerie F's collection of silkscreen gig posters, art prints and street art.
Tickets are $15 at this link and five beer samples from Brooklyn Brewery and a one-of-a-kind Nate Azark print designed exclusively for the event.

We will be showcasing a live heavy metal podcast with a successful group known as Two Assholes Talking Music (Ryan Barrett and Jim Somers). They have complete control of our audio and video equipment, so god only knows how brutal this night could get. We are introducing 10 new tap lines at the bar with only big and gnarly beers, all of which are sure bring the metal out. Marshall McCarty and Garrett Schroeder, executive chefs from our sister bars Mash and Nobel House, will be showing off their smoking skills with some seriously risky entrees along with some of the staples that have contributed to their acclaimed popularity. The highly anticipated CCBW Public Hop Seminar will once again entice the senses of craft beer enthusiasts by introducing rare and exquisite types of hops that are considered unavailable to the general public. Attendees will have the opportunity to touch (rub), smell, and taste different variants of hops and learn unique styles of brewing from the perspective of a hop farmer and a professional brewer. Festivities will begin at 7pm and end at 10pm.
All participants will receive a commemorative tasting glass for this event. BuckleDown Brewing and Hop Head Farms will also offer specialty pours that have been brewed utilizing the hops presented in this educational format.
Nunzino Pizza, proprietor of Hop Head Farms (MI), will once again lead the educational process, and Ike Orcutt, Buckledown's co-owner and head brewer, will provide professional brewing insight on the hop selection process. Hop styles will include Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, as well as other rare variants!
Tickets are available on a Will Call basis, $50 through Brown Paper Tickets. If still available, General Admission tickets will be available at the door for $60.

Meet Chicago’s top female brewers and beer industry experts from Temperance, Rock Bottom, Lagunitas, Begyle, Goose Island, DryHop, Metropolitan, Motor Row and more! We’ll be taking over all 26 taps with special collaboration beers and firkins. Proceeds to benefit the Chicago Chapter of Dress For Success charity.

We're tapping a keg of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. We'll pay homage to the days of yore, when Goose was king of craft in Chicago. Let's face it, BCS is still a pretty damn good beer, after all.
Tapping time: 7:30ish. First come first serve. Mission: kill the keg.
