As part of #CCBW, Forbidden Root will be taking over Hopleaf's side bar to tap our newest release - WPA, a wildflower pale ale! Come sample this unique ale with the team, as well as Sublime Ginger and Forbidden Root! Appetizers will be provided.
WPA is named to commemorate the Works Progress Administration, a massive public works program launched in 1935, that leveraged the power of people to renew, rebuild and grow. In conjunction with this release, Forbidden Root Benefit LLC, which is dedicated to creating a business that devotes resources to social responsibility and community engagement, announces a new program dedicated to cultivating community volunteerism: The Charity Works Program.
Throughout April & May, the Forbidden Root team will be volunteering for charities close to their hearts and wish to inspire others to do the same. The brewery is encouraging individuals who commit time volunteering to snap a photo and tag it on social media using the hashtag #VolunteersOnTap.

We'll be tasting through a custom menu of some of our favorites: shrimp and cheesy grits, jambalaya, fried chicken, mac n' cheese, peach cobbler and more.

For the first time ever, we’re releasing two beer collaborations in one night!
The first is with 18th Street Brewery – an American IPA with Amarillo and Hull Melon hops. The second is with Pipeworks Brewing Co. – a Kettle Sour with Kiwi and Lemon Balm.
Pipeworks will also take over our taps with the following brews:
- Ninja vs. Unicorn – Double IPA - 9%
- War Bird – Session Ale with Hallertau Blanc hops - 4.5%

Petrus tapping featuring Petrus Aged Pale, Petrus Aged Red and Petrus 50/50 Blend
Petrus Oud Bruin: Mixed fermentation beer with a deep dark red colour. This beer ages over 18 months in oak casks. This is what gives Petrus Original (in Flanders also known as ‘Old Brown’) its wine-like, aristocratic taste with a slightly sour character. The relatively low alcohol content makes this beer an ideal thirst quencher.
Petrus Aged Red: The perfect blending of a prizewinning dark beer, a beer aged in oak barrels and the taste of sour cherries. The result is an exceptional, complex ruby-red jewel which is sweet and sour at the same time.
Petrus 50/50 Blend: This specialty beer is a blend of both the Aged Pale and the Red Ale and only to be offered in this limited tasting. Blending is key to Petrus, and that extends beyond the blending in the brewery. Brabandere encourages consumers to mix Petrus Sours together.They’re already mixed, so why not mix them some more? Put them together and you get something deeper, slightly sweet and with good body.
