Yikes! After a brief stretch of calm, we're back to craft beer bedlam in Chicago! I had to stop gathering events and just post what I got. I'm still going through stuff that will be added here later. Or check my Facebook page for latest updates, including notice of who will have the last two Cup matches on (c'mon, at least let's pull for Brazil to get that 3rd place finish).

2:15 pm - 9:45 pm ♦ "Pasture Raised" Field Trip
Depart from Haymarket Pub & Brewery, 737 W. Randolph St, Chicago (312) 638-0700
It's our ultimate summertime cookout. Get closer to your food than ever before with an afternoon on the farm alongside chefs Charlie Eure (Revolution), Nathan Sears (Das Radler), Sarah McDonnell, Chad Little, Nick Stewart and Leonard Hollander. Join them as we prepare a literal farm-to-table take on one of America's favorite culinary pastimes.
Our chefs have a deep regard for the food we eat – when livestock is raised with respect, it deserves to be prepared with the same amount of care. While our demonstrations will be focused on grilling rather than butchering, we will be on a sustainable livestock farm to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, open space and everything else that comes along with it.
THE EVENT LOCATION WILL REMAIN SECRET UNTIL YOU BOARD THE BUS. JUST MEET US AT HAYMARKET PUB & BREWERY – BEER'S ON US.
What's a Field Trip without a ride on a school bus? Meet us at one of Chicago's most awarded brewpubs, Haymarket Pub & Brewery, at 2pm for a beer. Buses will board promptly at 2:15 and go straight to our destination.
For our suburban guests, there will be a registration from The Onion Pub & Brewery in Lake Barrington, from 3:00 - 3:30pm.
The Field Trip will last until approximately 10:00pm.
We will be outside on a farm – we suggest wearing jeans and casual shoes.
PLEASE DO NOT BE TARDY. The bus will leave promptly at 2:15 and there will be no refunds for those who miss the bus.
First of all, there's gonna be beer: at check-in, on the bus, at the bonfire, and so on. But there will also be 4 cocktail stations, each paired with appetizers, plus wine, liquor and more cocktails during dinner. Charlie, Nathan and Sarah will be gathered around the grill serving up the finest pasture raised beef, chicken and pork you'll eat this summer. Leonard's doing modern takes on classic picnic sides while Chad and Nick throw down on dessert. Everything's served family style, because this is a farm and it's the middle of summer.
Buy one ticket for $95 or take advantage of our special Buddy System pricing – two tickets for $180. All guests must be 21 and over.
The first 50 guests to purchase a ticket will be entered to win one of 3 Field Trip picnic baskets, filled with provisions from our participants.
This is a production of Field Trip Cocktails.
