Chicago Craft Beer Events, August 1–3

Chicago Craft Beer Events, August 1–3

It's Lollapalooza weekend and… well… well what. Musically I have to admit to being older than the stuff they made dirt out of, even if there is always a new band or two I can get into. But where's the beer? In my world, Lollapalooza is every weekend.

Let's welcome yet another Chicago brewer to the scene! Blue Nose Brewery is putting beer on tap while building out at its 10 bbl brewery in Justice, IL. They debuted Pipa, a "World War II style American Lager" at last week's Beer Camp, and it's now tapped at Sheffield's Beer and Wine Garden, Farmhouse Chicago,68 Bar and Grill, Trellis, Bohemian House, and Barn & Company, plus an Archer Avenue Pale Ale.

12 pm ♦ Cellar Release Series: Dogfish Head
The Bavarian Lodge, 1800 Ogden Ave, Lisle, IL (630) 241-4701
Join us for part one of our special cellar release series, featuring an incredible selection of cellar-aged rarities from some of the world's finest breweries. This week's featured brewery: Dogfish Head!
We'll release four very rare, special cellar-aged kegs from Dogfish Head of Milton, Delaware. All drafts will be tapped at once and available on a first come, first served basis. Don't miss this rare treat to try sample versions of Dogfish Head's finest!
120 Minute IPA (2012, 21% ABV)
Olde School Barleywine (2012, 15% ABV)
Hellhound On My Ale (2012, 10% ABV)
Noble Rot (2012, 9% ABV)
Note: When it comes to cellared brews, just as the aging can create something absolutely wonderful and sublime, it can also sometimes fail miserably. Granted, the failure rate is quite low, but please be aware that if any of these beers did not survive their journey in the cellar, they will not be served. We reserve the right to change the announced line-up, or cancel parts of it. Cheers
