You may have noticed that after providing some info about getting tickets for last Saturday's Day/Night of the Living Ale, I kind of forgot to list in in last weekend's calendar. I can only cross my fingers and say well, it weas sold out anyway. This year, balloting and judging changed to allow rewards for beers under 6% abv, since most people go for the big beers. Results and a recap are at this Reader article.
Friday, March 7
Atlas Brewing Company, 2747 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago 773-295-1270
Baderbräu has teamed up with Atlas Brewing Company and The Radler, the modern day German beer hall in Logan Square, to create Tricycle, a limited edition German ale. Tricycle is an Altbier, a style originated in Germany. It is typically a dark copper colored, sessional, mellow beer. The Tricycle contains smoked malt, which gives the beer a unique twist that is different from a typical Altbier.
The limited edition beer, priced at $6, is now available at Atlas Brewing Company and The Radler (2375 North Milwaukee Avenue).
