Love Cider? We certainly do! As a matter of fact we are down right crazy about it. To celebrate Cider, the folks who grow the apples and the folks who make us fantastic Ciders we are going to be tapping some incredible Ciders.
On Draft:
Farnum Hill Dooryard, Aspall Still Cider, Original Sin Cherry Tree, Uncle John's Melded, Vander Mill Puff the Magic Cyser, Tieton Cider Works, Wandering Aengus Ciderworks, and more! We will also be offering some incredible Ciders in bottles.
Chef Cleetus and crew in back are going to offering some special dishes to pair with the Ciders...and for this we cannot wait!

Chicago Cider Conference Events at Jake's

Jake’s goes hard from Wednesday, February 5 – Friday, February 7 while hosting events in homage to Chicago’s CiderCon. The festivities kickoff on Wednesday with a Virtue Cider Party.
Thursday continues with the Vander Mill Cider Party, which will include three cask-conditioned firkins of Hard Apple, Bon Chrétien and Totally Roasted Cider. Puff the Magic Cyser will also be available, which is a cider fermented with honey and aged in New Holland Dragon's Milk barrels.
Want to get schooled? Drop in on Friday for the Artisanal Imports Tasting and Q&A with Farnum Hill from New Hampshire, EZ Orchards from California and Aspall Ciders from England. On Saturday, save those CiderCon badges. Come back after the convention, flash your badge and receive a reward from Jake’s.

If you haven’t jumped on the cider bandwagon phenomenon yet, maybe this will change your mind. Josh Townsend, from arguably one of New Zealand’s best cider producers, Zeffer, is coming to Binny’s. He’ll share Zeffer’s fine ciders, including Apple, Pear, and Slack Ma Girdle.
Not only is their fruit sourced directly from New Zealand growers and freshly crushed on site at the cidery, but the entire small operation is run by a cute husband and wife team, Sam Whitemore and Hannah Bower. They produce their ciders in small batches with the intent to interfere as little as possible, allowing natural flavors and aromas to develop for a unique cider. No RSVP is required.

Co-Founders Otto Dilba and Dean Coffey will be there, along with additional Ale Asylum reps. Come hoist a pint (or solo cup) and show us how it’s done IL style.

Saturday, Februrary 8

SBS Imports and the Seattle Beer Collective are pleased to announce the return of their successful Cider Summit festival to Chicago, IL.  This year’s event will take place in two sessions - 11am-3pm and 4pm-8pm in the Lakeview Terrace Room at Navy Pier. Cider Summit Chicago is presented by Binny’s Beverage Depot and will once again benefit The Great Lakes Cider & Perry Association and Heartland Alliance.
The owners and cidermakers will be on hand to inform and guide guests through the samplings which will be available in 4-ounce portions. Cider Summit will feature over 90 ciders from throughout the U.S., England, Scotland, France, Spain, and New Zealand. The event will also feature specially selected food pairings, an author’s corner, and an event store featuring Cider Summit t-shirts and other merchandise.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 (cash only, if tickets remain) at the door and are available online at and at the Hotel Palomar (505 N. State St.) concierge desk. Admission includes a souvenir tasting glass and 8 tasting tickets.  Additional tasting tickets will be available for sale onsite at $2 per ticket. Designated driver tickets are available for $5, and include a bottle of water.  A separate ticket is required for each session.  The event is 21 and over only.
