Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 17-19

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 17-19
Upland and Brooklyn Brewing pair up for music at the Beat Kitchen.

After the doldrums of the post holiday seasons, and now that we face a prospect of a Super Bowl we could care less about, the beer events are starting to build momentum again.

Friday, January 17

Navaja Release at Half Acre
Half Acre Beer Company Tap Room, 4257 N Lincoln Ave., Chicago (773) 248-4038
Some months ago we brewed several draft versions of Navaja, a double IPA pounded out for your pleasure. Those variants funneled us toward the light and now we're wrapping glass around it and making it a full fledged enterprise. 10% and full of steam, this weighty snack forges sharp and soft edges into one single blade.
Chiseled down and stripped of the unnecessary, we laid a foundation exclusively from Golden Promise malt. The Promise is barley's almond butter; a rich and chewy spackle for your mouth. Yanked from the scabbard to slap at your jelly needs, the substantial Columbus, Mosaic & Hallertau Blanc. Navaja Double IPA is a buxom tool that's sure to challenge the most daring sword swallower.
$6.00 13 oz draft pour, $10.99 per bottle, growler fills available.
