Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 10-12

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, January 10-12
Just put other styles in your brewpub, okay, Frank?

First off, congratulations to Frank Thomas, elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year on the ballot. I understand he will be entering as a White Sox, the team that got him a World Series ring. Greg Maddux will do the same in his Braves uniform, with teammate Tom Glavine.

Last April we had heard that Thomas was in the process of opening a "Big Hurt Brewpub" on Cermak Ave. in Berwyn. I posted a query to the announced developer, Heidner Property Management, as to whether this was still being planned, and was rewarded with a simple "Coming Soon!" While I may have not cared for his Big Hurt Beer, I'm sure you can't put up a brewpub with 8 taps for a brewmaster to fill and not expect some better beer to come out of them.
