Celebrate the “Canniversary” of Canned Beer
On January 24, 1935, the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company became the first brewer to sell canned beer in the United States. Competitors soon followed suit, and by the end of that same year, over 200 million cans had been produced and sold. Franklin Tap will pay homage to the anniversary of canned beer with a “Canniversary” party. Franklin Tap's list of 20 different canned brews will be offered for $6 each. Chef Glenn Pistorio’s menu of bar snacks, soup, salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers and tavern favorites will be offered.

Arrowhead Restaurant and Bar, known for a wide collection of craft and other rare beers all year long, is offering a unique tasting experience this winter. Join them for Straight from the Tap, an exclusive afternoon tasting featuring over 32 craft beers from 13 breweries.
Participants include national and local craft brewers such as Two Brothers, Solemn Oath, Revolution, and Lakefront. These breweries will offer tastings of limited edition, early release, never-before-released, and other rare beers. Beer lovers can leisurely enjoy tastings and rate each beer while they snack on hand-crafted hors d’oeuvres from Arrowhead’s own Alan Pirhofer.
Straight from the Tap will take place in the beautiful and intimate Arrowhead ballroom. All-inclusive tickets, which include 32-2 oz. tastings, food, entertainment, service fees, and tax, are $45. Once again we are taking the Chicago Street Festival scene indoors for Lincoln Square's second annual Winter Brew! Join the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and the Square Kegs Home Brew Club for a day and night of local beer and local food!
Local breweries from around Chicago will set up shop in the 5th floor ballroom of the Dank Haus to showcase what great beers Chicago has to offer. You'll have the chance to taste multiple local beers and discuss what makes each of them unique. Participating breweries include Begyle, Half Acre, Finch's, Metropolitan, Revolution, Ale Syndicate, Baderbrau, Une Année, BuckleDown, and Lake Effect.

Lottie's Pub will host the 6th Annual Old School Dive Bar Pub Crawl. For only $15 per person, guests will receive transportation to four neighborhood dive bars on a school bus, refreshments on the bus, and a buffet at Lottie's after the pub crawl at 7 p.m.
The dive bar destinations will not be revealed until the day of. In the past, the crawl has visited places like Mickey's Tavern in Bucktown, and Rite Liquors and Ola's Liquor in Ukrainian Village.
