Chicago Craft Beer Events, December 6-8

Back to a twice a week schedule. I missed some events that popped up since the last listing went to bed. Usually I still post them on my Beeronaut Facebook Page. And you know, yesterday was the 80th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. A lot of by brewing and serving contacts posted about it on their FB pages, but only a few had any specials going. Looks like they were all setting up their 12 beers of Christmas promotions (last week's calendar has some more) (next week: ugly sweater contests).

Buckledown Brewing Now Open

I don't have a specific event from them, but let's take note of the fact that BuckleDown Brewing has opened its taproom. Its principals are Ike Orcutt (Head Brewer) and Sean Mahoney who previously launched the contract-brewed Hopothesis beer, and decided to get more hands-on. The brewery and taproom are at 8700 W. 47th St., Lyons (off IL-171–1st Ave.). Hours are posted on their Facebook page.

Geneva Ale House is one of these spots, and to celebrate their fourth Anniversary they're featuring a few breweries. On Saturday, Solemn Oath will be featured, and it will be sweet. Three brews from SOB will grace this Geneva staple's lines.
