Chicago Craft Beer Events, November 25-28
Humf. I Googled for images with the words "Beer" and "Pilgrims," and ended up with Canterbury slash fiction.

Yikes, it's 10 pm Sunday as I start this. Well, I just had to put out my contest where you can win a VIP pass the Binny's Lincoln Park's Bourbon County Stout Black Friday, didn't I? I'll have other Black Friday goodies later, but let's lead up to Black Wednesday for now. Besides, if you read on you'll find where you can get a Thanksgiving Day jump on BCS, or just get some unique beers to impress your family.

Half Acre Heyoka & Quakerbridge releases
Half Acre Beer Company Tap Room, 4257 N Lincoln Ave., Chicago (773) 248-4038
Heyoka is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics in Chinook and Amarillo then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold, 7% ABV and ready to travel into the distance. The Heyoka resides in the opposite and is said to use the wind as sticks to beat the drum of thunder. You'll find this in draft and in cans around town.

Quakerbridge Barley Wine is a 10% ABV rolling pin sure to smooth out even the closest of quarters. As in years past, this beer lands with a stiff hop presence, but time offers necessary hush so the grains can get out on top. It's your call, buy one to drink with your aunt that doesn't drink beer and blow back her hair or wait a couple months and crack one during the depths of winter's angriest time. Either way, be sure to head out into the mix and warm the homes and heads coming your way.
