I had this ready to post, then got sidetracked by the big question about whether the Goose Island brewpub was about to close. A lot to get to this weekend. If you can't find a good beer, it's your own fault.

June 21 - 30

Stone's Most Bitter Bar Challenge
Do you worship the glory of the hop? Then you can help your local bar earn its place in beer history by ordering one of Stone's hop-centric brews between 12:00am on June 21st until 11:59pm on June 30th. Beers include:
Stone IPA, Cali-Belgique IPA, Ruination IPA, and Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.
One national winner will be named, along with a winner for each state, and one per region. Winners will receive the undying glory of being named "Most Bitter Bar" for the period of one year.

Two Brothers Summer Festival. formerly the Hop Juice Festival, has grown to a whole weekend.
June 21: 5 pm to 11 pm; June 22: 12 noon to 11 pm; June 23: 12 noon to 6 pm (Free Family Fun Day, no tickets required!)

Tickets are required for general admission, and a limited number of VIP tickets are also available. Children under the age of 12 are free and do not need a ticket.

St. Michael's Chicago Craft Beer Festival
St. Michael in Old Town, 1633 N. Cleveland Ave., Chicago
Chicago's second annual Craft Beer Festival at St. Michael in Old Town will be a beer connoisseur's paradise. By whatever name (microbrew, seasonal, specialty, small batch, etc.) craft beers are hot. And visitors will again get an opportunity to sample from more 100 of these specialty brews in the fest's tasting tents. Held on the grounds of the iconic parish, the fest also features some awesome music performances late afternoon and evenings.
NOTE: Ticket sales are limited to 3,000 each day.

Along the Fox River, 301 E. Hydraulic St,, Yorkville, IL
Rogue Barrister Records along with Three Angels Brewing proudly presents "Summer Solstice", the ultimate pairing of ground to glass brewed beverages and independent minded musicians on the cusp of greatness. Once again, the scenic Fox River will serve as the backdrop for this unique event in historic downtown Yorkville. In combining efforts with the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce, this event stands to top last year's highly successful Harvest Moon Festival.
Three Angels Brewing with the help of Superior Beverage will be hosting an exclusive craft beer tasting from 11:30 to 4:30. Participating breweries include Brooklyn, Ommegang, Widmer Brothers, Ale Syndicate, Kona, Redhook, Goose Island, Unita, Milwaukee, and Kentucky Ales. The cost of admission will include admission to the indie music concert, a commemorative glass, and a number of tastings. Tickets and Supplies will be limited. 2:00 pm ♦ First 4 Paws Brewery Tour
4 Paws Brewing, 5435 N. Wolcott Ave., Chicago
The new 4 Paws Brewing tours will be offered on June 22nd, July 13th & 27th, August 10th & 24th, September 7th & 21st.
HOW IT WORKS: We accept up to 30 people on a first-come first-served basis. No reservations will be taken. There is currently no food or beer for sale on site. We can provide a list of nearby places to eat and/or purchase 4 Paws.
Cost: $10. Cash only. This gets you a souvenir tasting glass & sampling during the tour. Tour participants must be 21 or older with identification. No one under 21 is permitted without a parent. Please note, a working brewery is not a playground and is no place for unattended children. Pets: While we love all 4 legged friends, safety is our #1 concern. To protect your pet, we do not allow animals in the brewery.

Bridgeport Art Center Atrium, 1200 W. 35th St., Chicago
Now in its third edition, the Mash Tun Festival is a celebration of the release of Mash Tun: A Craft Beer Journal issue #3. The Mash Tun is a publication put out by your buddies at Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar and The Public Media Institute, a non profit arts and culture organization based in Bridgeport. Mash Tun is our paean to craft beer. It follows the pleasures and aesthetics of craft beer and how it intersects with food, culture, and society.
The festival features over two dozen of the world’s best breweries. Flagship and rare beers will be poured alongside one-of-a-kind concoctions at the stunning Bridgeport Art Center at 35th and Racine. The festival will be held in the 19th century atrium and the Center’s lovely sculpture garden. Local chefs and food trucks will be vending. Craft spirits and wineries will also be sampling their wares and you will help decide which brewery will win an award for making the best beer.
We are hosting an awards ceremony this year and will be giving out awards to brewers that make the best liquid in these categories:

Join us for our BIGGEST party of the year, a street-side celebration of everything we love and all that makes Founders what it is today: the world’s greatest beer, incredible live music, delicious food from local favorites, and wearables and shareables from some of the area’s finest artisans. Founders Fest is an all-day event, and takes place on the streets surrounding the brewery.

Here is this year's entertainment schedule:

Founders Fest is a ticketed, strictly 21+ event. Re-entry will be allowed based upon capacity. Tickets are $20 in advance, available through EventBrite and in our on-site company store. 2013 Mug Club members can purchase discounted advance tickets for just $15 in our company store only. If available, day-of tickets will be $25 at the front gate. Note: The Brewery, including the Tap Room, Deli, and Company Store will be closed to the public the entire day, as this event is entirely outdoors.
All of your Founders Favorites as well as quite-a-few surprises and n/a beverages will be available in our massive beer tents. Tickets are required for all beverage purchases, and can be procured at various locations about the festival grounds. We will also have water stations for the usage of festivalgoers and to lower the consumption of bottled water. We will not be filling growlers at the festival. Deschutes recently began selling beer in Illinois and, they say, "since we like to give back to the communities that drink our beer, we have decided to team up with the Alliance for the Great Lakes." Deschutes will be donating $1 for every barrel of draft beer sold in Illinois to help the Alliance achieve its mission of conserving and restoring the world’s largest freshwater resource. So, the more you drink, the more money raised for this organization.
