Grayslake Craft Beer Festival this Saturday

North suburban Grayslake is hosting this weekend's big beer fest.
The Grayslake Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of art of brewing.  There will be over 100 brews from more than 30 different breweries, pouring Saturday June 1, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.  There is also a special sold out VIP session from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Participating brewers include Mickey Finn's, Half Acre, Potosi, Virtue Cider, Brooklyn, Deschutes, Church Street, Ommegang, Small Town Brewing, Lagunitas, Crown Valley, Shipyard, Big Shoulders, Shipwrecked, Stevens Point, Big Bay, Sprecher, Lake Bluff, Weihenstephan, Affligen, Gray's, Leinenkugel, New Holland, Argus, Hopothesis, Abita, Dogfish Head, Capital, Sam Adams, Goose Island, Southern Tier, New Belgium, Harpoon, Wild Onion, Lakefront, and Light the Lamp.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Festival site, Grayslake Festival Grounds at 61 S. Whitney St.
General admission tickets ($35) include admission into the festival at 1:00 p.m., twenty-five 3 oz. samples of craft beer, a commemorative glass and day-long live music.  Additional sample tickets can be purchased for $.25 each.
Designated drivers may purchase a special $10 ticket which entitles them to admission at 1:00 p.m. plus unlimited free soft drinks and water at the Baird & Warner Designated Driver Station.  Each DD attendee will also receive a commemorative pint glass when exiting the festival.

Food will be sold by local vendors The Vine Martini & Wine Bar, Cacao Sweets & Treats, Emil's Tavern on Center, and Bulldog's. ​​There will be live music all afternoon from Venna and the Jellybone Blues Band.
There's plenty of parking in downtown Grayslake, with the principal lot at Center and Seymour Streets, just a half block from the festival grounds. You can also take Metra's Milwaukee District North line, with the Grayslake station less than a mile from the festival grounds.
All of the net proceeds of the Grayslake Craft Beer Festival will be used for college scholarships for deserving students.  Half of the scholarships will be awarded by the Exchange Club of Grayslake and half will be awarded by the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce.​

​​There will be rinse stations conveniently located throughout the festival grounds. Children and pets are not allowed within the festival grounds.  All attendees must be at least 21 years old on the day of the event.
