A showcase of the breweries along the Brown Line, where both the Cicerone Certification Program and The Long Room also reside.
Confirmed breweries include Half Acre, Begyle, Atlas, Metropolitan, DryHop, and Spiteful. Also on hand will be two great Brown Line businesses, Brew Camp and Bottles & Cans.
In addition to highlighting the neighborhood's local beers, the night also serves as a meet-up for Chicago-area people who have reached a level of certification in the Cicerone Certification Program ... and the first round is on us! If you are a Certified Beer Server or a Certified Cicerone, we'll give you a custom glass and your first beer! (Good for the first 100 people who claim it!)
We're asking for RSVPs from Certified Cicerones and Certified Beer Servers through Brown Paper Tickets. However, ALL ARE WELCOME even if you're not a Certified Cicerone or Certified Beer Server (while you won't be eligible for a complimentary beer and glass, we'll have other goodies on hand for you, including raffles from the Cicerone Certification Program, Brew Camp and Bottles & Cans). No RSVP necessary!

Beyond The Brew is a panel/discussion featuring the best in American Craft Beer. Similar to SXSW or TED, these are informative talks that leave you with a new understanding of what craft beer is and the personalities behind it. What sets this event apart, is that it is coupled with interactive, craft beer tasting. But not just any tasting, each sample is hand selected by the featured speaker of the night, so that every 10-20 minutes, we will pause for that particular brewer (or distiller) to share that beer with the audience and speak on why it is special. Beyond The Brew is not just an informative panel or a tap takeover, Beyond The Brew is an interactive, entertaining, informative beer gathering that you will never forget.
This ticket price includes the discussion, four 4oz. beer samples (chosen by the 4 speakers), and a limited number of tastings before and after the panel.

Goose Island Brewmaster Brett Porter, Brewmaster Emeritus Greg Hall, and the Pub Brewmaster Nick Barron crafted a beer to celebrate the faithful drinkers who supported them for the past 25 years. Inspired by the special unreleased beer call “Honker’s Deluxe,” this Extra Special Bitter is brewed with Maris Otter malt and dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings. It exhibits the rich malt and rustic hop flavors found in the English ales that originally inspired Goose Island’s founder, John Hall to open the brewery in 1988.
