Old Town Pour House, 1419 N. Wells St., Chicago (312) 477-2800
An EPIC Chicago Craft Beer Week collaboration. Old Town Pour House, Metropolitan Brewing & Two Brothers combine forces to bring you a "Great Firkin Brunch!" An event as rare as a sunny Chicago spring, as rare as a month without a parking ticket, as rare as finding a great apartment with IN-unit laundry. For this magnificent compliment to Chicago Craft Beer Week, Chef John Madden has created a menu to pair brilliantly with brews from Metropolitan Brewing and Two Brothers Brewing Company. The best firkin part? We'll have a firkin in-house that's filled with a special coffee-infused brew, using Two Brothers NEW coffee line and Metropolitan's Dynamo Copper Lager. You just can't get this anywhere else. Check the Pour House web site for a menu and pairing options.
11:00 am ♦ Local Cask Day & VIP Hour
Fountainhead, 1970 W. Montrose Ave, Chicago (773) 697-8204
In honor of Chicago Craft Beer Week we are again hosting Local Cask Day! We’ve done this event for the last 3 years & it’s become a crowd favorite. We get casks from our favorite local breweries & we line them up across the bar. You order your beer & we pour it directly from the cask. Doesn’t get any cooler than that, right? Ahh, but it does…
This year we’re starting the event early & we’re offering a special VIP hour prior to opening the bar. You buy your ticket for $20, show up at 11:00 AM on Saturday & have your pick of the freshest, just tapped kegs in the city. Featured breweries include Brickstone Brewery, Brewery Vivant, Greenbush Brewing, Half Acre, Metropolitan Brewing and more. Casks will be poured downstairs, but the rooftop will be open and guests are free to wander up & enjoy the drinks in the sunshine.
Price of admission includes 2 free pours. Casks will be pouring downstairs, but our rooftop will be open & you’ll be free to wander up & enjoy your drinks in the sunshine should you so desire.
We are limiting the VIP hour to 40 people to make sure that everyone can easily get drinks & enjoy themselves, so we suggest you buy your tickets quickly via Brown Paper Tickets. At noon we will open the doors to the public – no tickets required.

Lottie's Pub Invites Chicagoans to Honor Neighborhood Institution with a Day of Festivities
Lottie's Pub will celebrate its 79th anniversary on Saturday, May 18 with an all day bash featuring 79-cent draft beers, $4 Jameson and $7.90 homemade 14" pizzas. In 1934, Lottie Zagorski transformed a former grocery store into what now still stands as a local tavern in Chicago's Shakespeare District. For over thirty years, Lottie's basement served as a place of anonymity for mobsters, political figures, and anyone else seeking it. Lively parties, horse betting, strip teasing, and all-night poker extravaganzas thrived beyond the doors that quietly sat on the corner of Cortland and Winchester. Lottie became a well-known individual among city figures, acting as an intermediary for both sides of the law. In honor of the woman behind the story, Lottie's Pub celebrates its namesake with a variety of activities, illuminating the era that defined Lottie's Pub as a Chicago landmark.
