Beeronaut is Back: Pre CCBW Calendar, May 13-15

Beeronaut is Back: Pre CCBW Calendar, May 13-15

Yes, I finally finished my long overdue Ruby on Rails assignment for my class from last fall. I could have celebrated by going to American Beer Classic Saturday, but I need to work on that "moderation" thingie. But if anyone who attended wants to comment below, welcome!

Instead, I had an invite from fellow ChicagoNow blogger and CN trivia teammate Exavier Pope to the opening of his new law office, which he shares with his lovely wife's art gallery at the Lacuna Artist Loft Studios on Canalport at Cermak. I got to feel so urbane; visiting another cool converted loft space (the former Chicago Macaroni Co., no less), talking to models and a WGCI DJ, advising a few other guests on craft beer… And three floors down was another gallery event with the guys from Powell Brew House sampling more of their high-grade homebrew.

This week happens to be American Craft Beer Week (May 13-19), but that has been superceded by the bigger Chicago Craft Beer Week, starting May 16. I really have no hope of covering the whole magilla here, when you can just click the line a line or two above and even download an app for yourself. But I will try to highlight some of the more interesting events: those featuring local brewers, anything involving Kentucky Breakfast Stout, and events I find that are not on the CCBW schedule.

Here we have some pre-CCBW events. If nothing else, these may not be as crowded as what's going on this weekend:

Generosity Water has been instrumental in raising funds and bringing together partners on the ground to implement the water project featured in the film.
