Schaumburg Boomers Baseball will host Schaumburg’s first annual beer fest at Boomers Stadium.
This four-hour, unlimited sample festival features specialty beers from over two-dozen breweries. General admission tickets are $49 each and VIP tickets are $75 each, which allows the ticketholder access to the event an hour early at 12:00 p.m. and special tappings from a select group of exclusive brews.
This craft brewery festival will showcase the newest batches of craft beers by well-known and up-and-coming brewers, including the country’s first vegan brewery; and live music by “This Must Be The Band,” Chicago’s only Talking Heads tribute band. Free parking is available, as and the Schaumburg Metra station is a quarter-mile from the festival entrance.

Off Color Brewing, the much talked about venture by former barrel program wizards John Laffler of Goose island, and Dave Bleitner of Two Brothers Brewing, present their first event, a "popup bar" called "Mischief" This "night of revelry and collective nouns" at Black Rock will feature four collaborations brewed with Three Floyds, Haymarket Pub and Brewery and Metropolitan Brewing. "Friends from where you'd find us drinking if we weren't doing this otherwise will be crafting select libations and John will probably make something on a whim involving gin. It's what happens when there's no one to really tell you no anymore."
Tickets go on sale March 1 at noon, at $40/person (Limit two), at Brown Paper Tickets. There are three sessions available: Sunday, March 10 at 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. - midnight, and one on Monday, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Beer and cocktails are included in the ticket price. There will also be guest beers from Mikkeller, Jolly Pumpkin, Evil Twin and Firestone Walker.

OK warriors, we're co-hosting a beer that's to be delivered from our brew deck to your ceremonial chalice. We've again brewed with our cohorts at Three Floyds Brewing Co. and have given birth to the sludge of angels, Anicca India Pale. Anicca IPA is single hopped snake juice showcasing the Mosaic hop, a plant throwing off a cornucopia of fruit flavors. Bitter sweet and full of force, this IPA bends your brain into a tropical storm of writhing glory. As the philosophy explains, Anicca will come and go, so come sip this before all is gone. Available Friday, March 1st, 2013. 7.3% ABV, 16 oz pint: $6. Available only on draft in our tap room, no growler fills

For this week's Firkin Friday feature, we're happy to present Three Floyds Alpha King, an American Pale Ale that scores a perfect 100/100 on RateBeer.com. A Big American Pale Ale (nearly an IPA really) with citrusy aroma- a hop lover’s cult beer and Three Floyds’ flagship beer Brewed with Cenntennial, Cascade & Warrior Hops. If you've never tried Alpha King on cask, it is an absolute stunner - and one of our all time favorite pints in cask-conditioned format.
The cask will be tapped at approximately 5:30 pm at the bar. Its delicious contents will be available to everyone in both the restaurant and pub until the firkin runs dry. First come, first served.
