Day of the Living Ales, the annual celebration of cask and gravity-fed beers, is now selling tickets for the 2013 edition. The event, sponsored by the Chicago Beer Society, will be held Saturday, March 2, at Goose Island-Wrigleyville, 3535 N. Clark St., Chicago.Tickets can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets.
The CBS website proclaims:
For the ninth consecutive year, CBS will be sponsoring Day of the Living Ales, a walk-around real ale tasting featuring the best cask conditioned ales from Chicagoland breweries and some very special guests. We’ll also be serving fine meats, cheeses, and other appetizers to help you consume responsibly.
As always, DotLA will feature the region’s largest selection of real ales (40+ casks), all of them coddled by our own staff of experienced cellarmen, trained in the UK to care for and serve real ale. Remember, a properly served real ale is neither cloudy, flat, nor warm; rather, it is bright, with a gentle carbonation and served at cellar temperature. Accept no substitute!
Attendees will be able to sample the beers and then vote for the 2012 Champion Real Ale of Chicagoland.
Admission will be offered in one of two sessions: 1:00 to 5:00 pm, and 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Tickets for either session are $45 ($47.57 with service fee). Admission includes souvenir tasting glass, program, beer samples, and appetizers.
My suggestion: get 'em now. And just hope they don't put up tickets sales for Dark Lord Day that day.
