Deschutes takes in bow in Chi-Town!

The beer serving world took the week off following the long New Year's weekend. But we're back with a vengeance with the debut of Deschutes Brewing in Chicago!

Deschutes Craft Beer Events

These events include pints of Deschutes' Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Chainbreaker White IPA or seasonal brew, Red Chair NWPA. After your pint glass is empty for the night, take it home as a keepsake. Deschutes Brewery staff members from Bend, Oregon will also be on hand to answer all of your craft beer related questions! For fun times, great company & killer brews, come on out to see us!

Callow Knife, a refreshing, hop-forward pale ale makes its return. With “hops that could sink a ship“, Callow Knife is a juicy beast that we’re excited to welcome back into the fold. This 4.2% ABV drinker will be released on Wednesday, January 9th in both the brewery and tap room. It is draft only, $14 per 64 ounce growler and $8 per 32 ounce growler.

Join us as we have our first tapping and food truck event of 2013 with the beers of the only Trappist Brewery in the Netherlands! All La Trappe beers are developed and brewed in collaboration with the monks of the O.L.V. Koningshoeven Abbey.
Bockbier – Bock 7% ABV The only Trappist bock beer in the world and the only bock beer that continues to ferment slightly in the bottle.
Dubbel – Abbey Dubbel 7% ABV An authentic Trappist beer with a deep red-brown colour.
Quad – Quadruple 10% ABV A unique Trappist beer that is even put to rest sorted by year in the cellars of the abbey for further fermentation. The strongest beer of La Trappe with a beautiful amber colour.
Witte Trappist – Witbier 5.5% ABV The first and only Trappist white beer in the world. A fresh thirst quencher with a refined character. Recognisable as a white Trappist beer due to the use of mainly wheat malt. Brewed with very aromatic varieties of hops. La Trappe Witte Trappist is unfiltered.
Also, we be pouring some bottles of Oak Aged Quad! Make sure to get here in time so you don’t miss it!

Join Emmett's for one of our widely popular Brewmaster Dinners. The event starts at 6:30 pm with a beer reception where attendees can sample their choice of any of our handcrafted beers. During the reception hour Brewmaster Rob Hunter and the brewing staff, will conduct tours of our brewery and explain the beer making process. During dinner our chef and Rob will passionately explain their handiwork and how it applies to each of the five delicious courses. The price for this unique culinary experience is $59.95 per person, plus tax. Brewmaster Dinners are held semi-annually. Future brewmaster dinners will also be held January 17 at Emmett's in West Dundee, and January 24 at Downers Grove.
