Yes, I've returned briefly to my calendar columns by popular demand. My stats show me people are looking up Halloween craft-beer related events, and find only last year's list. So before I dive back in to hunting for a job and my class work, here is the first of two columns for this beeriest of holiday seasons!
Monday, October 22
St. Feuillien & Green Flash - Friendship Night at Fountainhead
Fountainhead Chicago, 1970 W. Montrose, Chicago, IL
Join Fountainhead and their very special guest... St. Feuillien owner Dominque Friart, for a night celebrating the Friendship of these two great breweries!
We will be pouring both Collaboration Beers:
Bière DeL'Amitié - ABV 9.5% A Blond Belgian Strong Ale, brewed at St. Feuillienin Le Roeulx, Belgium using St. Feuillien’s traditional yeast & secret spices. For a Green Flash-style modern twist, rye and wheat malts were added to the mash and American Amarillo hops used in a late boiling kettle addition. Then the beer was dry-hopped with more Amarillo for even more hop flavor, aroma and zest.
Friendship Brew - ABV 5.7% A Black Saison brewed at Green Flash in San Diego, with a blend of European Styrian Golding and American Cascade hops and features subtle spices enhanced by fruity esters and a roasted malt base akin to oatmeal stout. As is customary with all Saison Ales crafted by St. Feuillien, the spices used for the Green Flash collaboration ale are kept a closely guarded secret.
In honor of this we will be serving a special pairing menu for these amazing collaboration beers, as well as others from Green Flash & St. Feuillien.

Reservations: firstname.lastname@example.org (630) 717-0777 Join Heaven on Seven as we present a Beer Dinner featuring one of our favorite local breweries, Two Brothers of Warrenville, IL. Two Brothers BrewingCompany was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996. The business was envisioned by the brothers based on their entry into entrepreneurship with The Brewer’s Coop, a retail store catering to home beer and wine making. In 1993 The Brewer’s Coop opened its doors in Naperville, IL selling retail ingredients and equipment for the homebrewing community. The more they were surrounded by brewing, the more passionate they became about opening their own microbrewery. In early 1996 they decided to take the plunge and start writing a business plan. Several months later their dream became reality. Two Brothers Brewing Company is still 100% family owned.
The cost of the dinner is $50 per person plus tax and gratuity. For those that would like to attend but not participate in the beer dinner we will be offering our Jimmy Feed Me! tasting menu at $35 plus tax and gratuity. Double Beer Release Wednesday: Fistmas and Weegene
Revolution Brewing, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 773-227-BREW
Today, Revolution is releasing two beers; Fistmas and Weegene! Now, we know it's a tad early for carols and tidings, but we promise you that you don't want to miss out on this ale's beautiful, deep red hue with flavors and aromas of fresh baked bread, caramel, and dark stone fruits. As for the Weegene, it's a "not so small" beer that is brewed using the 2nd runnings of wort after collecting the super concentrated liquid to brew the Hugene. Supremely drinkable, this brew is more like a true London-style porter, which was so dearly loved and and consumed for sustenance by all the men working hard in the London ports. You know the drill, mug clubbers!
