Again, I must tender apologies for letting this column slip behind. My major pursuit is to pursue a job, and a certificate in Internet Design (Ruby on Rails is proving more difficult than I thought). But I have some events I wanted to expose for your approval so long as do it relatively quickly. And a new brewer coming to Chicago is always worth noting.
Saugatuck Brewing Company of… not quite Saugatuck, but next-door Douglas, MI, has entered into a distribution agreement with Louis Glunz Beers, Inc. and will be offering product throughout metro Chicago beginning this month. This adds to the existing distribution of the full state of Michigan. To celebrate the launch, SBC will be hosting promotions and “tap takeovers” in various Chicago craft beer pubs during the week of Sept. 24. SBC recently underwent its third brewery expansion in less than 12 months, more than doubling their brewing capacity during this period.
Saugatuck Brewing Company is a microbrewery with a family friendly pub/restaurant. Fifteen unique beer styles, are brewed in house. “SBC” also distributes eight styles in 6 and 4-packs, plus kegs throughout Michigan and metro Chicago. The brewery features one of the only active brew-on-premise facility in Michigan, utilizing five copper kettles and an array of natural ingredients and recipes, for the public to become “Brewmaster for a Day.”
The list of Chicago events starts today, so here goes:

Also be watching for seasonal releases:
- October will bring the high gravity release Double Diamond Black, a big, dangerously hopped American Black Ale.
- SBC will be releasing its winter seasonal in November: Neapolitan Milk Stout. A great creamy stout with aromas and flavors of Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate.
Follow me on Twitter, Google+ or my Facebook fan page. For even more tappings and events, check my Google Calendar. My previous calendar at ChiTownOnTap.com went dormant because the site webmaster got a brewing job at Solemn Oath in Naperville. Good luck!
Also, this Wednesday, I’ll be presenting my Musical Cheese radio show. Listen in at 9:00 p.m. on WIIT, 88.9 FM, from the campus of Illinois Institute of Technology. If you live more than a mile away from State and 31st check the live stream at radio.iit.edu. What is Musical Cheese? Well, remember all those songs your parents would bring up to show how music was so much better when they were your age? I'll be playing the ones they conveniently forgot to mention.
