5:00 p.m. • Wallonian Saison tapping
Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave., Flossmoor, IL (708) 957-BREW
We'll be finally getting into our Wallonian Saison. For those anxious mug clubbers who are ever so desirous for a free pint, we'll be holding a tapping party in the Pub Room from 5-6:00 p.m. Tapping at the bar will be at 5:00 p.m. as well. The term "Wallonian" refers to a region of Belgium, which I suppose has some governing forces on the style, but mostly it's just fun to say. We threw a pound of ginger root into the last moment of the boil to give the brew just a light kick of ginger spice. It finished out nice and light in color and came out to about 9.4% abv.

Bar on Buena, 910 W. Buena, Chicago (773) 525-8665
We at the BOB, Stone and Founders are concerned that the Craft Brew Movement has, as of late, become too ‘dark’. The Events too ‘adult’, too ‘serious’. And, yes, the Drinker too ‘jaded’. Everything is Have-you-tried-this, IBU-that, Hops-how, ABV-what? We are worried people are forgetting the fundamental fact: drinking beer should be fun!!! Our mission is to bring you, the Craft Beer Lover, back to that childlike sense of awe you had when you first sipped the magical beast that is a “Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean!” We want to re-open your eyes to the wonderful world of beer! It’s super and awesome. It nurtures friendship and happiness. And, if you drink enough of it, my child...yes, you will see a unicorn!!!
