We'll be getting into the Bear Claw Wheat Wine, which is a fruity, velvety and boozy wheat wine at 9.7% abv, fermented with the Weihenstephan Hefeweizen yeast strain. 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Bell’s Beer Dinner Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St. Chicago (773) 334-9851 Larry Bell will host Hopleaf’s first Bell’s Brewery beer dinner. Hopleaf has had a long and very special relationship with Bell's including the fact that for 20 years our window has sported the only Bell’s neon sign. We are long overdue to have such an event! The MNF parties are back! This year we are going to be at Haymarket Pub & Brewery (737 West Randolph). I thought we'd start on Monday, October 10th with the Bears game versus the Lions. The DahlCast staff will all be there and we will have lots of giveaways during the game. The best part? I'm buying the beers. Yes. Really. All of our podcast subscribers will get a beer on me (well not on me, but that could be a fun contest for down the road) and anyone that subscribes to the show during the games will also get a tasty brew, courtesy of yours truly...
Three Floyds Brewing Co. has announced on its blog that tickets will go on sale Sunday, October 9 at their brewpub for their 15th Anniversary Party in November. Online ticket sales will begin Monday, October 10 (Columbus Day). The Floyds has previously announce that they would be having their 15th Anniversary party on Saturday, November 12, at the brewpub, 9750 Indiana Parkway, Munster, Indiana. The announcement, again from their blog, read:
It will be a ticket only event, $25. 2500 tickets will be sold. Tickets will be sold on the internet at a Date To be Announced 700 tickets will be sold at the brewery at a Date To be Announced Pub investors will be given VIP tickets for the event and have a private area to chill in. Our XV beer is going to be a collaboration between us (USA), Surly (USA), Mikkeller (Denmark), and Struise (Belgium). We are brewing Surly Darkness, Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Brunch, De Struise’s Black Albert, and our Dark Lord Imperial Stout. All these beers will be blended to create our XV beer for maximum ass kickery. The XV beer will be bottled and sold for $30 per bottle to all those in attendance. The Bottle allotment will be determined when the beer is packaged. All of the breweries will be represented with their beer and their entourages There is going to be a live entertainment as well. The line up is yet to be announced, but it will be something special. There will be 5 world renown chefs from all over the 7 kingdoms. Jonathan Sawyer from The Greenhouse Tavern in Ohio, Paul Kahan and Justin Large from Big Star in Chicago, Mindy Segal from Hot Chocolate in Chicago and our own Mike Sheerin as well as a special guest from Denmark. All updates will come through the website and subsequently be cross posted to twitter and facebook....
