A night of all things Kwak. In addition to pouring this delicious Belgian beer, we will also be creating various food specials using it, including Kwaffles, Mussles, and Bananas Fosters Cheesecake.

7:00 p.m. Bear Claw Wheat Wine tapping

The next tapping starts at 7:00 p.m. for Mug Clubbers and then 8:00 p.m. behind the bar. We'll be getting into the Bear Claw Wheat Wine, which is a fruity, velvety and boozy wheat wine at 9.7% abv, fermented with the Weihenstephan Hefeweizen yeast strain.

Larry Bell will host Hopleaf’s first Bell’s Brewery beer dinner. Hopleaf has had a long and very special relationship with Bell's including the fact that for 20 years our window has sported the only Bell’s neon sign. We are long overdue to have such an event! We will be featuring a wide array of flavors from Bell’s portfolio of beers in the heart of the MIdwest harvest season, paired with Bell’s beers paired with dishes designed by Hopleaf’s chef Ben Sheagren. $75 Tickets are available on BrownPaperTickets.com.

The DahlCast staff will all be there and we will have lots of giveaways during the game. The best part? I'm buying the beers. Yes. Really. The Publican is hosting a brewmaster dinner with Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery as the host to promote his new book "The Oxford Companion To Beer." We will be creating a prix fixe menu along with Herb Eckhouse of La Quercia, who will be debuting a new ham.

Join us for one of our popular quarterly Brewmaster Dinners. The event starts at 6:30 pm with a beer reception where attendees can sample their choice of any of our handcrafted beers. During dinner our chef and Ryan will passionately explain their handiwork and how it applies to each of the five delicious courses. From there we will head north to Sheffield's BBQ (maybe we'll grab some ribs?), then on to Fountainhead and finally ending at the iconic Hopleaf. New Yorker Garret Oliver is the brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewing, author of The Brewmaster’s Table and editor of the first Oxford Companion to Beer. Chicagoan Ray Daniels is the founder and director of the Cicerone Certification Program, author of Designing Great Beers and other books and a contributor to the OCB. Join us as these two entertaining and highly knowledgeable beer experts talk about what it was like to compile a book that lays claim to being the world’s most comprehensive resource on the subject of beer. This event in the upstairs bar at Hopleaf is free to the public. Copies of the Oxford Companion to Beer will be available for purchase.
