Since I am not attending, I have been remiss in not discussing the Great Taste of the Midwest, one of the country's biggest beer festivals. It happens August 13 at Olin-Turville Park, Madison, WI. Tickets sold out back in April, so unless you have your own "in," fugettabouddit.
But we are starting to hear about some of the special events our local brewers will be planning for the Taste, and which beers will be highlighted. First up is Goose Island, which will feature a "County Fair" theme complete with Juliet and Lolita snow cones, and Bourbon County Brand Stout fudge.
I will try to collect some of the Great Taste pre- and post- parties in Madison in next weekend's calendar. Even if you can't go to the fest, you can visit the town's many beer bars and breweries, maybe catch a bar crawl bus, and just possibly score a "miracle." It could happen.
