This week's tapping is a collaboration we did with City Provisions. It is a Dunkel Weiss to which we added 100 lbs of fresh Michigan Cherries to the mash. Cleetus, the head chef/proprietor of City Provisions dubbed it the Kirsch and Blücher DunkelWeiss, (Kirsch meaning German for Charity, and Blücher… well, just watch Young Frankenstein). That tapping will be Monday, the 22nd, again at 7:00 p.m. for mug clubbers and 8 pm for behind the bar.

Chef Cleetus Friedman of City Provisions celebrates the release of Kirsch Von Blücher (a sweet cherry dunkel weiss beer), his collaboration with Flossmoor Station Brewery. There will be snacks available, as well as beer to taste and for sale. This event is the first of a series of collaborations City Provisions will be doing with Chicago-area breweries. In addition to Chef Cleetus, Nick Baron from Flossmoor Station brewery will be available to chat and answer questions.

Whole Foods Market and New Belgium Brewing are partnering to present a movie on the roof! Join us at the Whole Foods Lincoln Park store for a special screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Cost for attendance is a $5 donation to West Town Bikes, an organization which promotes bicycling in the city of Chicago, educates youth with a focus on under-served populations, and fosters and serves Chicago’s growing bicycling community. We’ll kick things off with a reception at Whole Foods 1550 Bar from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., where we’ll have a host of New Belgium Brewing specials, as well as plenty of treats for you to enjoy pre-movie! This spicy Belgian style offering is brewed to celebrate Angie, our frequent guest and staff favorite. A portion of the proceeds from this beer go to the Alzheimers' Association. This beer was brewed with special Belgian yeast and Czech Saaz hops, and is our entry in the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild's ReplicAle project.
GABF Pro-Am Tapping of Black Beaver

Our 2011 Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am entry is Black Beaver, the Best of Show Winner at the Brewers of South Suburbia's Chicago Beer Cup, brewed by Dustin Kirk and Dennis Nee. This German style Schwarz Bier is a smooth dark lager with some roasted notes and a clean dry finish. Hopefully it will continue with its award winning form in Denver.

It is time… The Collabaration beer - Chooch Brew - between New Holland Brewing Company, Three Aces, and Man B Que will be released August 25th. The crews from Three Aces and Man B Que traveled up to Holland, Michigan to work with the brewery in creating this special beer which they will be pairing with the Anarchy Burger! THE BEER Chooch Brew - a hardcore hopped up amber ale!!! THE BURGER Anarchy Burger - beef burger, pretzel bun, sauteed mushrooms, pickled fennel, wild boar bacon, grilled romain,smoked tomatoes, grilled fresno chili aioli and pickled red onion with beef fat fries tossed with lemon zest and onion ash, roasted bone marrow and tomato jam, fried garlic and hops pickle black garlic aioli. Elvis Presley will be making a special appearance to help pour beer!! The hand-painted custom tap handle has been created by Tony Fitzpatrick. This specialty brew is limited and will only be available at Three Aces!
