Saint Arnoldus is known for saving many people in the 11th century by convincing them to drink beer in the place of water when the water was not safe to drink. To honor this saintly act, we continue to drink beer… and good ones at that. Here's what we will have…

First Course: Seafood Sausage, Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Maine Lobster, squash blossoms, barley pilaf paired with Bell's Oarsman Ale.
Second Course: Lamb Sausage confit & braised lamb, roasted garlic, mint, pea risotto paired with Two Hearted Ale.
Third Course: Thuringer-Pork, cracked black peppercorns, tart cherry mustard, braised collards, house made bacon paired with Bell's Porter. Reservations are required.

8:00 p.m. Half Day Hefeweizen Tapping

We'll be having our next tapping for the Half Day Hefeweizen, at 7:00 p.m. for mug clubbers, and at 8:00 p.m. behind the bar. Half Day is a traditional Hefe made with 70% wheat, 13% of which was unmalted, which made for a rather interesting, and exhausting, brewday.

Tuesday July 19

Our Lincoln Park Tasting Room will play host to Wild Onion Brewery from Lake Barrington. The locally brewed beers will be paired alongside world renowned cheeses. $5 with Binny's Card, $10 non-members. Call for more information.

6:30 - 9:30 p.m. EPH's Left Hand Brewery Dinner Pairing

One of the best summer events in Chicago, this grand picnic is held every July in picturesque Lincoln Park, with the fabulous Chicago skyline as a backdrop. All dishes served at the BBQ feature items offered from the bounty of the market with nearly 100 chefs/restaurants creating culinary magic. In addition to food, locally made beer, wine, hand-crafted cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Tickets are available on and at the actual market on Wednesdays and Saturdays (at the Information Booth). Tickets will not be available at the BBQ! Ticket Prices: Ages 12+: $100.00 (includes entry and all food/beverages). Ages 12 and under: $25.00. VIP packages available by calling the Green City Market office.

It was during a trip to Fulton, MO and the Winston Churchill National Museum that Brewmaster Ken found his inspiration for his latest Wit bier. Sir Winston was a leader known for his strength, his words, his wisdom... and his wit. Here is perhaps the first beer to be dedicated to the first honorary citizen of the United States! Wisdom & Wit... A Belgian-style Wit beer brewed with orange peel and coriander! This is a light and refreshing summer ale with a hint of fruit, spice and floral characteristics. The evening will also include food and dessert pairings by Chef Darren Smith and live music by Steve & Bobby K!
