Today kicks off Chicago Craft Beer Week, sponsored by the Illinois Craft Brewers' Guild, taking place in the middle of American Craft Beer Week, sponsored by the Brewers Association. I'm confused, too. So I just lumped all the beer related events for today into this column. It's the beer that matters. Please note that most CCBW events are free to attend, but some may limit attendance to those bearing Beer Week passports. Most participating establishments will sell you a passport on-site for $10.

This event takes place during Prairie Moon's regular "Thirsty Thursday - Homebrewers of the World Unite!" event, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Every third Thursday of the month, Prairie Moon and the Evanston Homebrewers' Association host an open forum of homebrewers and beer lovers for the purpose of the celebration of beer. Thirsty Thursdays are a wonderful opportunity to talk about beer and brewing with people that love beer as much as you. Many brewers will also have samples of their own brews to share with you... for free!
