Chicago Craft Beer Week events, Tuesday, May 24

All right. I have 30-count 'em-30 events on the calendar, and not all of them are officially tied in the Chicago Craft Beer Week. An article by the Chicago Tribune's Josh Noel notes that in order to get on the event list,bars had to pay a $250 fee and get a stack of Passports to hawk. And they don't quite have the prize list set for collecting "bottle caps" on the passport anyway.
So I am trying to note the events that do require a passport to attend.But don't worry, there's plenty of beer to go around.

Chicago Craft Beer Week Prix Fixe Menu featuring Allagash

Brewmeister Pete Crowley writes: "Below is the tap list for our Pizza Port night. Almost all are in 1/6th barrels. It is a CCBW passport required event, which will basically act as your 'ticket' which makes it a 'private' event, which allows me to have these awesome beers!"

  • Sharkbite Red: 6.2% abv, American style red ale
  • Pants Optional Pale Ale (the only 1/2 barrel keg Pizza Port sent off premise): 6.6% abv, American strong pale ale.
  • Night Rider Imperial Stout: 10% abv, American style imperial stout.
  • I-5 Brown Ale: 9.5% abv, American style imperial brown ale, made in Collaboration with Matt Van Wyk from Oakshire Brewing Co.
  • Revelations: 8.2% abv, Belgian style pale strong ale.
  • Good Grief Brown Ale: 5.1% abv, English style brown ale.

Pizza Port Solana Beach

  • The Booya Steez: Imperial IPA, 8.5% abv.
  • Old Boneyards: American barleywine.
  • Swami's IPA: American IPA

Pizza Port Ocean Beach

  • The Jetty IPA: 7.3% abv, dry hopped with chinook and simcoe.
  • Tarantula's 2.0: 6.5% abv, black strong pale ale.
  • O. B. Spaceman Belgian Pale: 6.5% abv.
  • A. B. L. E. American Stout: 8.2% abv, a beer made to raise funds for our friend Brit Antrim.

Pizza Port San Clemente

  • Feeding Frenzy: 8.7% abv, Imperial red ale
  • Pier Rat Porter: 5.5% abv, Robust porter
  • Oro de Cervecero: 5.1% abv, American pale ale.

Three Floyds Brewing Day

Tapping a barrel of the newly released Half Acre MEATWAVE. Enjoy the latest seasonal offering with the very same people who conceived, created, and might even be hand-serving the brew itself. 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Anderson Valley Beer Dinner

Lillie's Q chef/owner Charlie McKenna, who serves award-winning competition BBQ along with Southern favorites and sides at his Bucktown restaurant, will host a four-course beer featuringrare Anderson Valley Brewing Company brews. There are no reservations needed for the beer dinner, and it will be served on a first come, first serve basis starting at 6:00 p.m. Lillie's Q will also serve its regular a la carte menu as well. The cost of the four-course dinner - with each course paired with a different 8oz pour of Anderson Valley beers - is $55 per person (tax and gratuity not included). Anderson Valley owner and president Trey White will be at the beer dinner and will talk about the beer pairings. Proceeds from each beer dinner sold will go the Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Dining For Wishes" campaign.

Crispin will be tapping its very limited release Desert Noir at Flo and Santo's to celebrate Craft Beer Week. A very Limited Release draught oak barrel aged cider. Desert Noir blends apple-wine aged in Tennessee Whiskey Barrels with apple-wine aged in red wine oak barrels then back-sweetened with Agave Nectar and a touch of Prickly Pear Nectar. There will also be a cider food pairing with flights of Crispin's artisanal reserve series.
