We will be tapping the newest collaboration from Stone, Highway 78 Scotch Ale. Mitch Steele of Stone Brewing, Chuck Silva of Green Flash Brewing and Jeff Bagby of Pizza Port Carlsbad collaborated to create the Highway 78. The name is based on the main road connecting the three Southern California-based breweries. This Scotch Ale uses three different Crystal malts, chocolate malt, and English pale malt to provide a rich, bready body. East Kent Goldings and Target hops provide a very modest backbone of peppery hops, but the flavor is unequivocally malt-driven. Scotch Ale yeast and a touch of raw sugar called sucanat was added to give it a distinctive complexity to this hefty 8.8% abv beer. In addition to Highway 78, there will be another beer from each of the three breweries on tap: Stone Smoked Porter, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Port Wipeout Chef Robyn will be be making some small plate pairings for these drafts! Last, but certainly not least... we will be offering a very select amount of bottles of past Stone Collaboration beers: Saison du BUFF (Stone/Dogfish Head/Victory); Bashah (Stone/BrewDog); El Camino (Un)real (Stone/Firestone Walker/21st Amendment); Special Holiday Beer (Stone - Jolly Pumpkin - Nøgne Ø).
