The Beeronaut's Chicago weekend events: March 25-27

Quietest weekend I've seen in a while, after the Super Bowl/Mardi Gras/St. Patrick's Day rush. But I can see things picking up again next week.

Friday, March 25

Saturday, March 26

Welcome the newest brewery to come to Chicagoland, Massachusetts' Clown  Shoes. Joe Katz of Stoller Wholesale will be on hand to answer your questions and pour free samples. Taste the beer that started it all, Hoppy Feet Black IPA, as well as Brown Angel, Clementine, and Eagle Claw Fist. All beers will be available for purchase. Call (630) 654-0988 for more information.

Sunday, March 27

12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. • 22nd Blessing of the Bock

The 22nd Annual Blessing of the Bock is a "Bock-only" Brew fest, featuring imports, micros, regionals & homebrew. Tickets at the door will be $30. Advance tickets are $25 and must be purchased at: The Bomb Shelter, 1517 S. 2nd St., Milwaukee, or The Gig, 1132 E. Wright St., Milwaukee (414) 562-0219.

2:30 p.m. • Freakin' Firkin Sunday

Brewmaster Steve will be tapping the Firkin cask at 3.00 p.m. (or thereabouts) on this Sunday. Enjoy a pint of real ale in its true form - and also enjoy the lively Irish Session which is the same day from 2-5 pm.
