Not to get anyone away from feeling all penitential and such, but there are some dinners and tappings going on. And stay tuned, I'll have news of something known as "KBS."

Wednesday, March 9

Reception: White Asparagus with Coriander, Satsuma Orange Dayboat Scallop Crudo with Black Pepper Crackers. Paired with Two Brothers Monarch White Beer.
First Course: Striped Bass Crispy Skin, English Peas, Honey Meaux Mustard, Pickled Mushrooms. Long Haul Session Ale Aged in Oak Foudres.
Second Course: Suckling Pig Porchetta Noble XO, Ice Spinach -Domaine DuPage French Country Ale

Join us when we tap a Firkin of Bell's Hopslam (gravity pour!). We will also be tapping a regular keg of Hopslam along side it so we can taste and look for the subtle differences. It won't last long. Jim O'Connor of Bell's will be here as well!

This month we feature Irish Beers and Irish foods to pair with them. We will be sampling 10 beers and food to pair. We'll show you all about beer blending, specifically the Guinness Black List. Handouts will be given for recipes. No Entrance Fee.

Join us as we are doing a double tapping for our Fire Chief promotion on Wednesday, March 9th and Thursday, 10th at 6:00 p.m. on both days.
Fire Chief Tapping Part One: March 9, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Join us as we kick off our month long Fire Chief Celebration in aid of Orland Fire Foundation and the 100 Club Chicago. We are kicking things off with The Band of Brothers Pipe band, guest bartenders, a split the pot prize opportunity and $5 pints of Fire Chief in a Logo Pint Glass which is yours to keep. We will also have bottles of Fire Chief available.
Fire Chief Tapping Part Two: March 10, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. We continue our Fire Chief events with a second tapping with bagpipes, guest bartenders, a split the pot prize opportunity and $5 logo glasses filled with Fire Chief.
Fire Chief Chili Cook Off Thursday, March 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Our Annual Fire Chief Chili Cook Off featuring a silent auction, $10 Chili and beer and our very own expert chili judge Jose "Dr. Jalapeño" Torres. Expect some great chillis from the local Fire Houses.
And on April 3rd, from 12:00 to 3:30 pm, we will be doing a Kids Safety Day and a Firefighter/Server Day of Tips.

Now in its 15th year, Fire Chief Ale is one of Rock Bottom's cornerstone promotions. Since its inception in 1997, it has raised over $1 million dollars for local fire departments and related charities. This is the largest charity event Rock Bottom does all year.

Join Goose Island for a Bourbon County Brand Stout vertical tasting with Brewmaster Gregory Hall. There will be 2008, 2009, and 2010 BCBS draught available for purchase along with other limited draft beers including Pepe Nero and Nightstalker. Each beer available - $5/4oz pour, $10/8oz pour. Additionally, our 15th annual Chili Cook off will be held March 29th at 6-8pm where local fireman battle it out over who has the best chili in Chicago. *$5 bottomless cups of chili (after judging is complete) *$10 gets you a cup and logo Fire Chief pint glass to keep! (all proceeds go to MDA) *And prizes and give-a-ways throughout the night
