Mrs. Murphy's Irish Bistro joins forces with Fountainhead & The B.O.B. to bring you the trifecta of The 12 Days Of Christmas. The three bars will be pouring over 20 Christmas beer selections.

Breweries to include:
Anchor, Mikkeller, Petrus, J. K. Skrumpy's, Port Brewing, Jolly Pumpkin, Breckenridge, St. Feuillien, Sierra Nevada, Brasserie Dupont, Ridgeway, Delirium, The Bruery, Southampton Publick House, Tournay, Great Lakes, Affligem, Brasserie De Silenrieux, and many more to be added.

There will be trolley service available on December 9 from 6-10 p.m., Dec. 12 from 4-9 p.m., and Dec. 20 from 6-10 p.m. to take you to each bar.

Brixie's will keep 12 different stouts on tap until the end of the year. Monday's tapping is: Dogfish Head Bitches Brew, Three Floyds Hells Black Intelligencia, Allagash Black, Bell's Kalamazoo Stout, Founders Breakfast, Fort Collins Double Chocolate, Left Hand Milk, Left Hand Wake Up the Dead, Leinenkugel's Big Eddy, Rogue Chocolate, Tyranena Doubly Down and Dven Dirtier, Young's Chocolate.

This venture, co-owned by award-winning brewer Pete Crowley, is going through a few last inspections for their various business licenses. Opening is now hoped for this weekened or early next week. Check with Haymarket's Facebook page for any additional information.

Friday, December 17

Cost: $155 The tasting includes 2 ounce pours of '07, '08, '09, '10,Coffee, Vanilla and Rare Bourbon County Brand Stout plus a take awaycollectors pack of 1 of each of the beers tasted. The presentation will be conducted by Education Coordinator Suzanne Wolcott and brewer John Laffler and covers all aspects of how we craft Bourbon County Stout. So why am I mentioning this? Because something could always open up, and it wouldn't hurt to ask.

6:00 - 9:00 p.m. • German Christmas Cask Tapping Night
The Bavarian Lodge, 1800 Ogden Ave, Lisle, IL

Join us for a very special German Christmas tradition as we tap two rare, cask- conditioned, unfiltered and unpasteurized Franconian Christmas Bock Beers served directly from gravity fed casks right on the bar. Our first cask comes to us from the beautiful Weissenohe Monastery in the village of Weissenohe, in northern Bavaria. The second cask is from the highly regarded artisanal Brauerei Mahr's, of the world famous brewing town of Bamberg, Germany. Come enjoy these fresh Christmas Bocks served as they are served in the classic bars of Franconia. A rare treat not to be missed! Sample batches from one of Chicago's newest startup brewers. Pipeworks is Beejay Oslon and Gerrit Lewis, two former WLV Liquors employees. Beejay apprenticed for a year with Belgian brewer De Struise, then he and Gerrit started Pipeworks to bring some of that brewing know-how home. They have brewed several collaborations with De Struise (unfortunately, none of which are available here). Check out their brewing efforts and learn about their efforts to build their own commercial brewhouse in Chicago, with the help of the Kickstarter crowd-sourcing program.

Electric Park Golden Ale: 5.64% ABV 36 IBUs OG 1.053 An easy-drinking golden-hued ale, this beer celebrates the Golden era of Plainfield in the 1920s - when Electric Park was the vacation amusement park of choice for many Chicagoans. Flaked corn and a generous dose of pure cane sugar make sure this beer is light and tasty. That sugary goodness is balanced with Amarillo hops. Pete Larsen of Global Beer will be on hand to pour an assortment of hearty Belgian ales to complement the season. Selections include beers from Brouwerij Roman, Brasserie de Silly, and Brouwerij de Musketiers. There will also be a special vertical tasting of Brouwerij van Steenberge's Gulden Draak.

6:00 - 8:00 p.m. • Boulevard Beer pairing dinner Fundraiser

Here is your chance to try some Boulevard beers unavailable to Chicago while helping to raise funds for those with Leukemia, Lymphoma and their families. This dinner will include 5 beers and 5 courses specifically created around each type of beer. Boulevard does not distribute to Chicago, so the host has travelled to their brewery in Missouri, meeting their staff to discuss each beer, loading up some kegs in a truck and hauling it all back here. Space is limited to 150 guests. Tickets are $50 online or $70 at the door. Free refills on all beer. Hosted The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, which offers hands-on training with other charities, gyms, online training programs or sports clubs. TNT is an established network of coaches, mentors and teammates, built by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society over the past 22 years. TNT trains for events around the country and abroad: marathon, half marathon, triathlon, hiking event or 100 mile bike ride.

A winter celebration. A time to exorcise the demons and flush it all out. The cost is $40 per person. 275 tickets to be sold. Once they're gone, that's it. A plethora of food, all you can eat. An array of entertainment, maybe all you can handle. An array of beer, all you can drink. A range of Half Acre beers, including Big Hugs imperial stout brewed in collaboration with Dark Matter Coffee and also Double Daisy Cutter / The Doble Cortador, which is fermenting in preparation of this night. Also special release beers from other brewers you know and love. All proceeds go to benefit this party.
