It is my pleasure to introduce to you a new guest writer to my blog. Her name is Brie Isaacson and she is the head volleyball coach at Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois and the club volleyball director at Club 1 volleyball in Plainfield, Illinois.
Her athletic experience includes playing high school volleyball at the varsity level as captain, earning All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State, and becoming a two-time All-American award winner; while her club experience included a club National Championship. As a scholarship college player, she became a collegiate All-American and was awarded Athlete of the Year in 1999/2000.
Her coaching accomplishments are no less stellar. As the head varsity coach at Naperville Central, a very prominent high school in the Chicago suburbs, she has coached teams to 5 Regional Championships, 2 Sectional Championships, and 2 State Championships. And dare I mention that this is in one of the toughest areas in volleyball in the state of Illinois.
In addition, she has raised a combined total of $100,000 for the Susan G. Komen For The Cure through various team functions.
I am thrilled to have Brie’s input as her vast knowledge and experience will be a big plus here at The Athlete’s Sports Experience. From time to time she will be contributing a variety of sports articles not only from a former successful athlete’s and current coach’s perspective, but also from a parent of athletes (she has four athletic children).
Please join me in welcoming her and feel free to leave comments for her on any of the pieces she publishes. Great to have you here, Brie!!!
