College Football Scholarship Not a Sure Thing

Perusing the internet looking for interesting sports pieces earlier this summer, I ran across a great video by ESPN reporter Steve Delsohn titled “OTL: Over The Limit.,” a title that certainly drew my attention.

At first glance, I thought the piece would likely cover coaches and programs going over the NCAA 20 hours a week limit for practice and competition. That would make sense, right?

However, what I was expecting turned out to be quite different from what I got as Steve reported on the all too common practice of over signing athletes for college scholarships; more specifically football athletes.

Rather than highlight the information and statistics Steve covers, I would encourage you to view the embedded video yourself. It is a great piece that delves into circumstances that most are not even aware of. I know I wasn’t.
