Celebrate Tax Day!! ...because Uncle Sam would want you to get a free massage and see a Burlesque Show

This Thursday. April 15th. Tax Day. DUN-DUN-DUN!

Hopefully by now, you've gotten your poop in a group and sent everything off to good ole Uncle Sam.
It's the day countless Americans love or dread. Just how big will my refund be this year? Or perhaps the dreaded...OH MY GAWD, I OWE WHAT!?
Well no matter what your situation is...I've found a few awesome ways for you to celebrate or drown your sorrows...

How about starting your day with some free caffeine? It doesn't matter if you stayed up late to submit your taxes at the 11th hour or you're a CPA who is running off of 10 hours of collective sleep for the past two weeks...everyone deserves a free cup of Joe. And our good friends at Starbucks are doing just that. This Thursday, April 15th, Starbucks is giving away a free cup of coffee. The kicker? You have to bring your reusable tumbler...like a travel mug, or something of the like. Helping save the planet while helping your bank account. Seems like a pretty awesome deal to me--especially if you're one of the folks who owes the IRS some change.

Destress from all your Tax woes with a free HydroMassage (a really awesome massage bed that gets you on all sides of your body without ever having someone touch you). Just print off this coupon to redeem, though you'll probably want to call ahead. Don't sweat it if you can't make it on the 15th...the coupon is good through April 18, 2010.
Feeling hungry? McCormick and Schmick's restaurants are offering a special bar menu for $10.40 complete with dinner and drink specials. The bonus? Every bar patron walks away with a "$10.40 Tax Relief Certificate" good on their next visit. So you say seafood isn't your style? No problem! This Thursday, P.F. Changs China Bistro will be giving a 15% discount in honor of tax day. And then there's Carnivale who is offering a $15 gift certificate (good for a subsequent visit by 5/31/10) for anyone who dines with them for lunch or dinner on Thursday. Or for a late night meal off the beaten path, head over to Zocalo for a three-course fixed menu for just $15 after 9pm.
Once your belly is filled, it's time to cap off your evening with some libations. There are a dozen drink lists roaming around the internet as most folks seem to be getting in on the action. So make it a Thirsty Thursday at Hub 51. From 10pm - 2am at Sub 51 (the lower level) you'll find half priced champagne and bottles with live music courtesy of DJ Konsept. Or go for a strike over at River North's 10 Pin Bowling Lounge with games for $4.15 each and drink specials on Sam Adams Drafts. And even Clark Street Dog is joining in on the Tax Day fun with $4 Cuervos and Jim Beam.
And after you're got a few drinks in your system, get a little wild with the Windy City Burlesque Fest's opening night party at the Blue Bayou. While it's not billed as a Tax Day celebration, it's still worth mentioning--not only will there be fantastic drink specials and Cajun food abound, but there is also two FREE bar-top burlesque shows at 10pm and 11:30pm that will give you a sneak preview of the saucy and sexy shows available on 4/16-4/17 during the official festival at the Greenhouse Theatre
Be sure to take notes so you can go home and let the real awesome celebration begin. If you know what I mean. Hubba, hubba...

We're filing extensions for people all day the 14th and 15th at Alliance Bakery and Small Bar. (Apologies for the tackiness. I just want as many people to know as possible.)

Awesome! Free coffee. How many tumblers can we bring in?:)

  • In reply to DavidWallach:

Good question. I didn't see any information limiting the coffee...but it may be more appropriate for you to bring in a few dozen water bottles...I KNOW you've got about five million of those suckers littering up your cabinet space.

  • In reply to DavidWallach:

That's... can't, um, think of the word... Rad?

  • In reply to nixhexison:

    I believe what you're going for is..."radtacular." :)
