FEEL the Love: Adopt a Cat

FEEL the Love: Adopt a Cat

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Why not turn those warm and fuzzy thoughts of love into a true act of love - adoption! The Anti-Cruelty Society is once again offering a great catpaign to promote the adoption of our feline friends. Cats make great pets - especially for city dwellers, but overpopulation is still a serious issue for these furbabies.

You can make a difference for a cat in need of a forever home. During the Society's "Feel the Love" catpaign, the 5 cats that have been at the shelter the longest will have their adoption fee waived. It is wonderful that The Anti-Cruelty Society offers and unlimited-stay for Chicago's pets in need, but no shelter can ever replace the warmth and love of a home... your home!

One of the cats in the program is Princess (pictured here). This sweet little lady has been at the Society since March 31! That means she will soon be at the shelter for an entire year. At just 5 years-old, Princess still has many years of love to offer a family. She was surrendered because her last family said there was a conflict with another pet in the house and she was a little scared of new people. At the Society, Princess has been sweet and low-key. Just look at that adorable little dot on her nose - I bet she wants to nuzzle you with it!

"Feel the Love" runs through this Sunday so head over soon to meet your new friend. Come by to meet Princess or any of the other cats and dogs in need of forever homes.

    Tatiana's Tails

Tatiana grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, parrots, rabbits, guinea pigs, and an iguana… just to name a few pets. She began her professional career with animals in 1995 at Brookfield Zoo. Tatiana has studied wild dolphins in Australia and rescued wildlife in Florida, but she always says that people are truly at the heart of her work. The welfare of people and animals is connected through a shared environment and the same traits of empathy and compassion that make someone a good pet owner also simply make people better neighbors and citizens. If it walks, hops, or slithers, Tatiana cares about it. She currently oversees the Humane Education programs at The Anti-Cruelty Society, hosts "Chicago Tails" on Watch312.com, and is a Guest Blogger for Tails Inc.
