Looking for Love - The Anti-Cruelty Society Cat & Dog of the Week

Please share - Let's help these two senior pets find some heart-warming love on the coldest days.

Diamond

11-year-old domestic shorthair

Senior pets can be the absolute best adoptions! Kitten energy can climb your curtains and puppies need significant time investments for training, but lots of senior pets are content to be terrific lap-warmers. Plus, your heart feels extra special for taking them into a home. Sweet Diamond was surrendered to The Anti-Cruelty Society years ago for landlord issues. She was adopted, but then found as a stray and brought to Chicago's Animal Care & Control. Her adopter was unable to be located (a great reminder that you must keep the contact information in your pets' microchips current) so she is back at the Society for a second shot at finding true love. Diamond is very striking (as you can clearly see in her photo). With one glance, you can't help but notice how really beautiful she is. Diamond is a wonderful brown and white tabby whose markings are as perfect as can be, and her eyes are just a phenomenal green. Diamond is a calm and quiet girl who clearly enjoys love and attention. A sunny window, a cuddly bed ... and of course, someone to love ... and life will be complete for Diamond. She's a lovely lady and deserves a home with someone who will love her forever. Won't you come and meet her? Diamond is patiently waiting for you at The Anti-Cruelty Society.

Sophia

10-year-old terrier mixsophia

Look at that adorable face! Sophia is another senior pet looking for love. This sweet little old lady is a bit stressed here at the shelter - something that is not uncommon for dogs that can later become extremely well-adjusted in a home environment. Her adopter(s) will want to be patient to give Sophia some time to adjust, connect, and warm-up to the family. This pretty terrier has a history of showing a little too much interest in smaller prey-type animals so she wouldn't be a great fit for a house with bunnies and leash walking will be extra important to help keep the squirrels (and Sophia) safe. She is a pretty girl who will benefit from taking things slow and building relationships in her new home. Sophia still has lots of love to give!

Diamond and Sophia are both eligible for The Anti-Cruelty Society's "Aged to Perfection" program.

The Anti-Cruelty Society is located at 510 N LaSalle, Chicago, IL 60654.
