Kids seem to have a natural love for animals. In an attempt to turn that love into some career inspiration and motivation to stay in school, The Anti-Cruelty Society is putting together an Animal Careers Pop-Up Learning Lab. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Details: Tuesday October 29 from 5 - 6:30pm in the Mullane Auditorium, 169 W Grand Ave.
Who: Teachers can come to get ideas for their classrooms. Families are welcome. After school programs can come as a group (but please email firstname.lastname@example.org to give a group count). The hands-on activities are geared towards 6-12 graders, but all ages are welcome to attend.
What: Attendees will be able to stop by tables to meet ten different professionals to learn about their careers and the education and experiences it took to get there. Come to meet a Naturalist Author, Veterinarian, Education Specialist, Pet Groomer, Behavior Expert, Zookeeper, and more!
At each career station, there will be a hands-on activity led by teens in the Society's after school program. Discover what veterinarians learn from stool samples, how an ornithologist identifies birds, how to prepare a diet for a monkey, and more!
