After Tibz has kept the Bulls' fan base in the dark for weeks, Rip Hamilton is once again going to be returning to the courts Friday night.
Rip Hamilton has taken the curse of being "the injury prone guy" on the Bulls roster. Last year it was Boozer, the year before that it was Noah with his plantar fasciitis. Rip Hamilton is finally back, and hopefully for good. Hamilton helps add a whole other dimension when he is on the floor, a dimension Bulls have been lacking ever since Rip and Rose took a seat. As good as Brewer has been this entire season, he just does not attract any defensive attention like Rip does. A lot of Bulls fans have a common misconception, why isn't Rip playing more often? The real question should be, why cant Rip stay healthy? Is it his age? Is it just by bad luck?
To be honest, the Bulls can do just fine without Hamilton even in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Heck, they can even do well against Miami without Rip as they proved earlier this season and all of last regular season games. Bulls just need all their weapons locked and loaded for the inevitable playoff series with the Heat this year, which means a healthy Rip. However, the Bulls' coaching staff has done a great job on trying their best to keep Rip healthy. Even when Rip came back from his last injury, Tibz extremely limited Hamiltion's minutes during the game. Hamilton has been practicing in full contact practice for over a week, but Tibz decided to take it easy and linger with the return. It'll be great seeing Hamilton play against the Thunder, it'll put more pressure on Durant and Harden defensively. Good to see Rip back, hopefully we could say the same about Rose really soon.
