Projecting a possible take-over by the women of the world would have been a non sequitur as well as a non starter until this century. No way in the world would there be serious discussions about such prospects.
However, then was then and now is now.
By now the number of women in the West in government, law, courts, medicine, higher education, and even the military have reached heights too dizzy for even the old Suffragettes and Women Libbers to have imagined.
So maybe it's time both the male and the female of the species place their bets in this fast-spinning casino of Western civilization. Two spokespeople for your consideration:
* Veteran Police Chief Tomey of Jersey City has decided on a new strategy for combating crime rates which include more female perpetraors. A three-story-eye-in-the-sky. It's a new surveillance tower to monitor the high crime areas of the city with video cameras and additional first-responder technologies. Kinda of a hard-fisted, man's-man approach!
* The all-female former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was asked about the prospects of a better world if put in the hands of more women. Her answer surprised her supporters: "Anybody who thinks the world would be a better place if it were run by women, doesn't remember high school! "
Chief Tomey and Madam Secretary Albright -- I take it you each speak volumes for your respective gender. Please consider me an an innocent bystander who prefers not to get caught in the crossfire.
