We are truly blessed to be part of a large family in our scoliosis journey! The families in the Lucky Cast Club know at any time you will have a family of friends here to support your journey. We celebrate the good news, mourn the bad and pick each other up from the low points in this journey. Although we have this amazing network there are still so many families who walk this path alone. I was overjoyed when our Hospital and amazing care coordinator mentioned hosting a picnic for the scoliosis families to kick off Scoliosis Awareness month in June.
What started as a dream has become reality. June 9, 2012(9:30-12:00PM) Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago has arranged a picnic for all our families and all the scoliosis families who are patients in their hospital to get together for fun and fellowship. Clowns, Food, Games & more will allow our kids to enjoy the hospital outside the Operating Room. We are anxious to join in the fun and will be looking forward to meeting so many new friends. The hospital has been gracious enough to provide us a venue and offered to grill. We will be looking to add to the party by finding some sweet treats and possibly prizes to enhance the day. I would love suggestions for favorite Chicago Bakeries where we can get some yummy goodness to bring with us to share with our friends. If you are a current Scoliosis Patient at Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago or a Lucky Cast Club family and would like to join in the fun, please feel free to contact me!
So much of our past 3 years has involved unpleasent memories for our little friends. It is such a blessing to be able to celebrate their success and milestones while creating fun memories of their beloved care center! Thank you Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago & Huge Thank you to Linda our care coordinator for making such amazing moments possible!
Check your kids. Their spines will thank you!
Until next time, keep it curvy~
