Since we're on the cusp of a new year, it's only natural to look back and hope forward. And my what a year it's been. Without being too sentimental, this year brought about a lot of change. A new city. A new job. A very calming sense of self, and clarity about where I'd like things to go next. Not that it was all easy and that the next steps will be either. Those steps are more like gaping leaps that I need to blindly have faith in, and strength to commit to. And, well, it was sad to see that some people never change, and some peope do, but not in the ways you need or want them to.
But that was 2010. And I have nothing but good feelings and best intentions going into 2011. And to celebrate it, I have 2 resolutions. One I'm sharing, and one I'm keeping to myself. The public resolution? To write more. Here and everywhere. To really dedicate myself to making strides in a first book and stretching my creativity. And the resolution for myself? Well, it's something I've needed to work on a while. And not in the creepy, closeted drug addiction way. But a personality trait, or more so block, that needs to disolve.
So here's to 2011! Whatever it brings, I hope we're ready. Buckle up.
