Small Biz Spotlight: Freshly Baked Communications

How do you build a thriving company after being laid off in a down economy? Satisfy a business need!

Lauren Young, the CEO/Founder of Freshly Baked Communications, shares her story about starting her company right before the recession hit. Now in January 2012, her company is launching "Knead to Rise," a six-week training program that will help start-ups and small business owners get the information they need to succeed.  The website is www.KneadtoRise.com. At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to pitch potential investors, which is a little different from other programs I have seen.

I think you will enjoy hearing Lauren's story, and there is no doubt that she is very passionate about her business and her clients.

Thanks Catherine! It was a fun interview!

  • Hi Catherine,
I work for a small, 1 year old Lincoln Park restaurant owned and operated by a female entrepreneur. It will be hosting a free holiday dinner on Christmas Eve for families in need. We're looking for volunteers and/or hoping for contributions from other local business owners (anything that people might be willing to do or give). Please let me know if you'd be interested in helping, or just giving a shout out. It would be appreciated.

Thanks, and keep up the great writing!

    Joe
