The fullback position in football is the position that clears the path for greatness. Leading running backs to record yardage, adding extra protection for the quarterback. For former Chicago Bears fullback Jason McKie, he still continues to pave the way. This time through charities and raising funds for our nation's military families.
McKie will host the “Tee-Up” Celebrity Golf Benefit and Dinner Gala to benefit the Jason McKie Foundation on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort in Lincolnshire, Il. The mission of the Jason McKie Foundation, launched in 2008, is to provide educational scholarships to family members of soldiers who have been affected by a loss or a severely injured parent or spouse. The McKie family hosts multiple events throughout the year to raise awareness and fund initiatives to assist military families in need.
McKie spent seven seasons (2003-2009) in Chicago and was the starting fullback on the 2006 NFC Championship squad that earned a berth in Super Bowl XLI. McKie helped pave the way for three 1,000 yard seasons by Bears running backs. Originally an undrafted rookie free agent out of Temple University in 2002, McKie also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.
Athletes and celebrities scheduled to attend the event include: Current Chicago Bears Matt Forte, Devin Hester, Johnny Knox, Kahlil Bell, Israel Idonije, Tim Jennings, Matt Spaeth, and Lance Louis; Chicago Bulls guard C.J.
