Today, I am grateful the world is not complete crap

This week ~

Some A-hole mugged a 90 year old woman.
But, a complete stranger helped her chase him down and throw his A-hole A in jail. Yay.

As a Dallas Cowboys fan (shut up), I've called former Giant/soon to be 49er Brandon Jacobs a few names in my day.
But, when a 5 year old boy wrote him a letter and sent him his piggy bank savings - $3.36 - in an effort to keep him in New York, Brandon did a really nice, really not A-hole-y thing.  Jacobs gave the boy his money back plus interest - $5! - and a signed ball and, probably most invaluable of all, spent the day with him.

And, of course, the biggest little A-holes of them all were those middle school kids who tormented their bus monitor Karen Klein.
But, as you've no doubt heard by now, one stranger started a campaign to raise $5,000 to send Klein on vacation and, in a matter of days, hundreds of strangers who only a week before had never heard of Karen Klein responded, raising over $500,000.

Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person to listen to his own goodness and act on it. ~ Pablo Casals

  • The world seems as "crap", because good news does not get published, and the bad is on a 24 hour cycle and can be delivered to you on your phone.

Best to tune out the bad news, especially if it is not in your own neighborhood, because there is not a damned thing you can do about it, except keep doctors busy checking your hight b/p.
