Best advice my mother ever gave me: GO!

17 year old Me: I don't think I want to stay in NJ forever.  I think I want to go to college out of state.
Mom: GO!

20-something year old Me: My application to Fordham Law School got lost.  F$^%!  I think I'm going to Boston.
Mom: GO!

30-something year old Me:  H is being transferred to Chicago.  I think we're moving.
Mom: GO!

Every relationship, every family dynamic, every situation is different.  So, this might not be the best advice for another family, for another young person, for other situations.  But, for a 17 year old, 20 something and 30 something Me, it was the best thing my mother ever said.

And, for that I'm grateful.  I love you, Mommy!!  Happy Mother's Day!!

P.S. Thank you for all of your other advice too, which gives me the idea for my next book, entitled: Make sure the prosciutto is imported and sliced thin and the provolone is extra sharp.  And other things Millie Taught Me.

Thank you for reading Stop and Blog the Roses.  Follow me on Twitter @fernronay and on Facebook here.
And, if you're in the market for a birthday gift ~ for a lovely lady or even yourself ~ why not give the gift of gratitude? The non-calendar version of Roses, the book, is now available on Amazon here.
