My husband is a huge Stallone fan. Yes, I'm serious. Sylvester Stallone!

Date: March 9, 2010

Dear Mr. Stallone:

My
name is Jen Fernicola and I am engaged to your #1 Fan!  His name is
H and, before I met him, I must confess that I never saw
Rocky.  I've seen it now.  It's really good!

H
is turning 40 on July 14, 2010 and he says he's never been surprised.
I'd really like to surprise him with a very special gift he could
never predict.  I realize this is a stretch but if you
happen
to be in the NYC/NJ area (where our families still live and where we visit often) or
Chicago (where we are living now) on or around July 14th, it would be
great if you could surprise H for once in his life with a five
minute hello.

Some
facts about H - Besides being a huge Stallone fan, he is a cancer
survivor (Hodgkins), a divorce survivor (lucky for me) and the most
positive person I've ever met.  He makes me truly believe that anything
is possible - even meeting you.

Please let me know.  I can be reached at this email address.

Thank you,
Jen Fernicola

[Insert crickets]

Today, I am grateful ~

1/ That even though Sly never responded, at least I tried!

2/ That H wants to go to Roys for his birthday dinner.  Love that place.  Look out, blackberry sangria!

3/ That since writing this letter in March, I finally surprised H.  We got married in May and took pics before our wedding ceremony, including a 'first look' picture where I was in dress #1.  When I walked down the aisle in dress #2, H was shocked - pleasantly so.  It's not Stallone showing up at our front door but it was a true surprise, nonetheless.

Oh and thank G0d for Photoshop!
