Help Find a New Home for Wright-Way Rescue; It's Raining Cats & Dogs; Pooh-Pee App
I made a plea on my radio show Steve Dale’s Pet World for Wright-Way Rescue, once located in Niles. Click HERE to listen to my conversation with the executive/director and founder Christy Anderson – she explained what really happened, as a school bus plowed in the shelter and destroyed the building. While amazingly the shelter workers,... Read more »

Wine, Dine and Mine at Anti Cruelty Society

Nadine Wamsley, Anti Cruelty Society with a dog who has one less leg but lots of heart, Judy Baar Topinka - at this point in her career legendary for what she's done for tax payers and for pets, Dr. Robyn Barbiers, president of the Anti Cruelty Society and myself. Topinka's commitment to animal welfare transcends to how much she cares about taxpayers in all ways. Because she says what's on her mind - and I've known her for many years - I can assure you she is sincere, walking the walk to save animals.
Images from the Anti Cruelty Society Wine, Dine and Mine Party, hosted by Dr. Robyn Barbiers, president of the Anti Cruelty Society with Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, who celebrated her celebrated Comptroller’s Critters program. Adopt A Pet Day, for Anti Cruelty Society with Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka's Critters

As emcee of this Adopt a Pet Day event, I kicked it all off talking about the importance of pet adoption. I had the honor of speaking about the Anti Cruelty Society and the special place they take in Chicago. They adopt more pets than any other facility, and they work with all reasonable shelters. They help out Animal Welfare League (where Hazel is from), and Tree House Humane, and a long list other other facilities. Though they are the City's largest and most well established facility, they may not always get the press they should. Sometimes you take your oldest friends for granted. (photo by Teresa Potasiak)
Judy Baar Topinka’s Comptroller’s Critters hosted an Adopt A Pet Day event with dogs and cats from the Anti Cruelty Society, Friday, October 28 at the James R. Thompson Plaza, State of Illinois Center.
