Enrichment is manipulating the environment to suit an animals’ natural behavior.  Over a long... Read more »

Black Friday Gifts for Pets

While some dogs manage to tear open the wrapping paper, no one wants the pup to tear apart the gift, as some dogs destroy plush toys in a matter of days, or even in a few hours. go-dog plush toys appear to look be like so many others, but they are different, featuring Chew Guard Technology. The seams are also double-stitched. No dog toy is indestructible, but they sure are super tough. In fact, Quaker Pet Group puts their technology where there mouth is, offering a money back one-time replacement per household. Available at many places where pet products are sold, $5.99 to $19.99.
More than ever before, that Christmas gift under the tree or Hanukah present might be for barking, purring or even squawking family members. Pet Gifts for Holidays

The Duck Dynasty family is ubiquitous on TV, from chatting on late-night talk shows and marching in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to appearing in pet stores as plush squeaky duck dog toys. Each toy duck vaguely resembles someone in the TV reality family. So, of course, the Willie and Jase ducks have red beards, while Phil and Si ducks have white beards. The duck toys are $13.95 to $17.95 at www.barkerandmeowsky.com; (773) 868-0200.

Backer Trade Show: Hundreds of Pet Products on Dispay

Due to sickness and death as a result of chicken jerky treats - I have told people not to buy any jerky treats. http://www.chicagonow.com/steve-dales-pet-world/2012/07/just-say-no-to-chicken-jerky-treats/
I am mostly right - I mean why take a chance with your beloved pet? However, I didn't explain that there are a small pawful of companies with source ALL of their ingredients in the U.S. and are therefore safe. Here's one company - and, in fact, they went into business out of concerns of companies (often large companies) who source from China (some concede this on their packaging, some do not). Until things improve regarding products made in China (for pets or people), why would you take a chance?
Want to know what’s new in the world of pet products, from games for cats to jerky treats truly made in the USA. It’s all at the annual H.H. Annual Backer Christmas Show held at the Rosemont Convention Center, Rosemont, IL. I’ll be writing soon about highlights, some of may favorite new products…These  images are an... Read more »
